A floor that was properly profiled and correctly specified stands up to vehicle traffic, hot tires, impact, and routine chemical contact for years. What shortens service life is almost always inadequate preparation or a system that did not match the conditions. Maintenance is sweeping and periodic wet cleaning.
It gets identified before anything is applied. Moisture vapor moving upward will lift a coating that was not built for it. Where testing shows elevated readings, a moisture-mitigating primer or vapor barrier system is specified rather than a standard build.
The floor area needs to be clear for grinding and application. Vehicles, shelving, and stored items come out ahead of the crew. On larger commercial floors the work can often be sectioned so part of the space stays operational.
Solid color, decorative flake broadcast, quartz, and metallic systems. Flake adds texture underfoot and conceals minor slab imperfections. Industrial floors often run solid color for visibility and cleaning. Samples are reviewed on site during the walkthrough.
