Frequently Asked Questions
General
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. USA Epoxy Floors is licensed and insured for residential and commercial work, with general liability and workers' compensation coverage. Proof of insurance is available on request.
What areas do you serve?
USA Epoxy Floors is based in Fishkill and works throughout Dutchess County and the surrounding Hudson Valley, with projects across New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania. The service area pages list every community. If you don't see yours, call or text to confirm.
How long does epoxy flooring last?
Service life comes down to surface preparation, the coating system, traffic, and upkeep. A properly prepared and correctly specified floor handles years of daily use, and polyaspartic or urethane topcoats add abrasion and UV resistance. Care is simple: sweep and wet clean.
How much does epoxy flooring cost?
Price depends on square footage, slab condition, repair needs, and the system and finish you choose. George Tsinias walks the floor, checks the concrete, and gives you a written quote on site, so the number reflects your actual floor.
Can you install epoxy over cracked concrete?
Yes, after repair. Cracks, spalling, and pitting are repaired, high spots are ground, and low areas are patched before any coating goes down. Structural problems beyond surface repair are flagged during the walkthrough instead of being coated over.
How do I get started?
Call or text (845) 464-2539, or send the estimate form with a short description of the space. George Tsinias schedules a walkthrough, evaluates the slab, and quotes the job in person.
Floors, Preparation & Systems
What determines which coating system a floor gets?
Slab condition, moisture readings, how the space is used, temperature during install, and how quickly the floor needs to return to service. A residential garage and a commercial kitchen in Dutchess County get different builds for good reason. The system gets specified after the floor is actually seen, not before.
Can floors be coated during winter?
Often, yes. Polyaspartic and polyurea chemistry cures across a wider temperature range than standard epoxy, which makes cold-weather installs workable in many Dutchess County buildings. Unheated spaces are evaluated case by case, substrate temperature matters more than air temperature.
How durable are these floors?
A properly prepared and correctly specified resinous floor handles vehicle traffic, dropped tools, hot tires, and routine chemical exposure for many years. Longevity comes down to preparation quality, the system selected, and how the space is used. Maintenance is straightforward, sweeping and periodic wet cleaning.
Does the space need to be emptied first?
The floor area has to be clear for preparation and installation. Vehicles, shelving, and stored items need to move out before work starts. For commercial and industrial floors in Dutchess County, sections can often be staged so part of the operation keeps running while the rest is coated.
Who is on site during the project?
Owner George Tsinias. He estimates the job, is on the floor during the work, and handles the final walkthrough. USA Epoxy Floors is family operated and veteran owned, not a franchise. Questions during a Dutchess County project go to the person doing the work. Reach him at (845) 464-2539.
What kinds of floors can be coated?
Most structurally sound concrete can take a coating, garage slabs, basement floors, warehouse and shop floors, commercial kitchens, showrooms, and industrial spaces. Cracks, spalling, and prior coatings are addressed during preparation. Floors with active moisture problems are evaluated before any system is recommended.
How long does an epoxy floor installation take?
Most residential garages are a one to two day install, with cure time before the floor takes traffic. Larger commercial and industrial floors run longer depending on square footage, the condition of the slab, and how much repair the surface needs first. Timing is reviewed at the estimate.
What is the difference between epoxy and polyaspartic?
Epoxy builds a thicker film and bonds deeply into prepared concrete. Polyaspartic and polyurea cure much faster, tolerate a wider temperature range during install, and hold color better under UV exposure. Many floors use both, an epoxy base with a polyaspartic topcoat. Which combination fits depends on the slab and how the space is used.
