USA Epoxy Floors strips away epoxy and resin floors in New Preston by combining heavy-duty grinding, shot blasting, and scraping to return each slab to clean, open concrete for follow-up use.
At each New Preston removal site, George Tsinias, owner of USA Epoxy Floors, performs an evaluation that checks for underlying adhesives, patches, and the exact resin chemistry to pick the proper extraction gear. Depending on the coating’s toughness and build, removal in New Preston uses diamond-grit grinders for thin to mid-level coatings and scarifiers or shot blasters when harder or thicker epoxy mortars are encountered, especially in older industrial or commercial properties. This system-matched approach ensures no film, adhesive, or patch is left behind, and substrate integrity is protected during aggressive mechanical action. After stripping, the floor is vacuumed with EPA-grade dust equipment. This leaves open, vacuumed concrete, ready for testing, next-day coating, new flooring, or handoff, a process that keeps downtime low for busy New Preston renovation or construction projects.
USA Epoxy Floors selects and operates grinders, scarifiers, or shot blasters in New Preston by matching tool type to the floor system’s chemistry and build. This achieves full removal for anything from decorative films to industrial-grade mortars, providing a true blank canvas for what comes next.
George Tsinias personally inspects New Preston floors for hidden mastic, patchwork, and prior repairs before any removal, controlling process selection and reducing risk of undetected slab issues. The right prep avoids substrate damage and ensures a proper, open surface.
Finished removal in New Preston is supported by EPA-grade dust extraction and site cleanup. The end result is a slab with a controlled concrete surface profile, free from previous coatings and residue, prepped for new floors or fast contractor turnover.

More About Us
Yes. New Preston and communities across Litchfield County, Connecticut. USA Epoxy Floors has been doing this work since 2001 and travels throughout the region for it, residential and commercial alike.
The space is cleared, the slab is inspected and profiled mechanically, repairs go in, and the coating system is applied in stages. Cure windows between coats are part of the schedule, not delays. At the end the floor is walked through together before the job closes.
Usually. The existing coating comes off mechanically, and the slab underneath is inspected to identify why the previous system failed. Poor preparation and moisture vapor account for most failures. The cause is addressed before a new system goes down.
It depends on the floor. Epoxy builds thicker and bonds deep; polyaspartic cures quickly, tolerates colder installs, and resists UV yellowing. Many jobs use an epoxy base under a polyaspartic topcoat. The specification follows the slab inspection, the moisture readings, and how the space is used.
Frequently. Polyaspartic chemistry cures across a wider temperature range than standard epoxy, which makes cold-weather work viable in many unheated New Preston spaces. Substrate temperature is the controlling factor and gets checked before scheduling.

“4 other contractors showed up, did their pitch, and then had to "go back to the office to prepare a quote" - 2 of them never responded and the other two estimates seemed high - George on the other hand showed up, gave me my options and provided a written quote right on the spot that was about 15% less than the other quotes and went on to do a superb job on my garage floor. I would recommend him highly!”
