Epoxy floor removal by USA Epoxy Floors returns concrete slabs to bare, open substrate by fully stripping failed or unwanted resinous coatings with mechanical grinding and heavy-duty removal equipment in Kent.
The epoxy floor removal process in Kent begins with a site inspection to identify the existing coating’s type, thickness, and adhesion. George Tsinias, owner of USA Epoxy Floors, looks for surface cracks, past repairs, glue, or multiple coating layers that affect the process. Specialized removal combines commercial grinders, shot blasters, and mechanical scrapers to strip all resinous coatings back to bare concrete. Diamond tooling is selected to handle standard epoxy, while stubborn or thick-set coatings in older commercial Kent buildings may require more aggressive equipment. After removal, the floor is vacuumed, dust-extracted, and tested for moisture or remaining contamination, ensuring readiness for the next system. Customers in Kent receive a cleaned, open, and properly profiled slab prepped for new epoxy, decorative concrete, tile, or handoff to another tradesperson. The process is built to minimize downtime on commercial and industrial sites, supporting quick turnaround for ongoing construction or renovation schedules.
USA Epoxy Floors delivers full mechanical removal of all forms of epoxy, polyaspartic, urethane, and hybrid resin coatings in Kent. Equipment and methods are chosen based on the system composition, slab conditions, and what follows the removal, supporting the substrate is left clean for the next stage.
George Tsinias, owner of USA Epoxy Floors, inspects concrete in Kent for host issues such as previous floor patches, adhesives, or failed coatings before any stripping begins. That diagnosis controls the choice of removal method and prevents hidden issues from carrying into later work.
Once coating removal is complete, USA Epoxy Floors leaves slabs in Kent fully vacuumed and profiled to support a new epoxy system, alternative flooring, or handoff to other trades. Every job closes with site cleanup and a bare, finish-ready substrate.

More About Us
Yes. Kent and communities across Litchfield County, Connecticut. USA Epoxy Floors has been doing this work since 2001 and travels throughout the region for it, residential and commercial alike.
The space is cleared, the slab is inspected and profiled mechanically, repairs go in, and the coating system is applied in stages. Cure windows between coats are part of the schedule, not delays. At the end the floor is walked through together before the job closes.
Usually. The existing coating comes off mechanically, and the slab underneath is inspected to identify why the previous system failed. Poor preparation and moisture vapor account for most failures. The cause is addressed before a new system goes down.
It depends on the floor. Epoxy builds thicker and bonds deep; polyaspartic cures quickly, tolerates colder installs, and resists UV yellowing. Many jobs use an epoxy base under a polyaspartic topcoat. The specification follows the slab inspection, the moisture readings, and how the space is used.
Frequently. Polyaspartic chemistry cures across a wider temperature range than standard epoxy, which makes cold-weather work viable in many unheated Kent spaces. Substrate temperature is the controlling factor and gets checked before scheduling.

“4 other contractors showed up, did their pitch, and then had to "go back to the office to prepare a quote" - 2 of them never responded and the other two estimates seemed high - George on the other hand showed up, gave me my options and provided a written quote right on the spot that was about 15% less than the other quotes and went on to do a superb job on my garage floor. I would recommend him highly!”
